With over 100 nations represented at the University of Manitoba and 20% of graduates scattering the globe upon graduation, we can literally reach the nations by reaching the university. With 80% of graduates staying in the province, many of whom stay right in Winnipeg, we can transform the very fabric of our city by reaching these students with the gospel.

We have been gathering with a core group since September of 2013 preparing the team for the launch of The Light Church. In casting vision to our core group, we encouraged our group to leverage our lives around the University of Manitoba. In Septmeber 2014 we launched our first worship service. Since that time we have seen God work in so many different ways as more and more students are being introduced to Jesus.

Prayer Points:

Salvations:  We have already seen 3 people make a profession of faith. Onc young man from China who was an athiest before joining our Bible studies. Two other young ladies from India have decided to follow Jesus. Please pray that more people from around the globe trust in Jesus at the University of Manitoba.

God has blessed us with so many teams in th past. From summer teams to an intern God has richly blessed us. Please pray for more teams and terns to plug in at The Light Church. If you or your church would like to get involvedin partnering with The Light Church, please e-mail

Celebration Church, Atchison Kansas

Scott and Melissa Murphy

Scott Murphy family

Scott Murphy, his wife Melissa, and family are working to establishing Celebration Church in Atchison, Kansas. God has given them a vision to plant a community of faith that will plant other communities of faith – starting in Atchison and then spreading outward to the “uttermost parts of the earth”. This mission involves maturing and developing followers of Christ who are capable of reproducing other maturing followers of Christ. They have seen Gospel fruit produced, primarily among the youth of the city. Connecting with many families through food pantry distribution and sports camps, Scott sees God’s affirmation in his calling to Atchison through baptisms and changed lives.

Pray with us… That God’s concern and compassion for Atchison will be made evident to families and community leaders in the city. That the ongoing ministries of Celebration Church will introduce people to the love and hope that Jesus offers.
